PHILOSOPHY

KIKAN believes that an abundant life starts with a grounded foundation. By integrating Eastern medicine with nourishing food and community experiences, KIKAN offers a setting where food, culture, and collective wellbeing intersect harmoniously.

Through our food stall offerings, events, and catering, we are dedicated to becoming a thoughtful resource for people to learn about both the seasonality and origins of food, as well as how we connect with our food more holistically.

Inspired by the principles of Eastern medicine, we are committed to providing food that is both nourishing and delicious.

We prioritize seasonality and supporting local agriculture, ethical farming practices, and sourcing high quality and organic products when accessible.

We honour our ancestors and the food passed down through generations, while also celebrating evolution and growth; we create recipes and experiences that acknowledge both tradition and progress.

We invest in
bringing people together around food and encouraging deeper connection with food, nature, and each other.

We believe that the foods we consume are not only fuel, but can also be an important source of medicine for the body and joy for the spirit; consuming food is a holistic experience in and of itself that is meant to be embraced as nourishment for optimal wellbeing.

Genevieve is a holistic nutritionist (CNP) and chef, passionate about creating food that is both deeply nourishing and delicious—inspired food with a story.

She is the founder of KIKAN, whose commitment is to make good health more accessible and to redefine what it means to be well.

In her early teens, Genevieve was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition. After receiving very little information on how to manage her longterm health, Genevieve chose to address the root cause of symptoms holistically. This led her on a path of research and education in food, which included the completion of a master’s degree in communications, where in her thesis Genevieve discusses the importance of nutritional literacy.
